“Addictions can be very, very bad but addiction itself is not bad.

It’s a case of what you’re addicted to.

You better live each day like it’s your last, ‘cos one day you’re going to be right”.

“Hey there guys,

Wow its been a while. Sorry I haven’t been in touch as much as I would have like to and more so as much as I should have. This year has worked out to be absolutely crazy. Sean and I have been boating heaps and have had a few good comps.

Canada Cup, day 1

Thought I figure I'd just fill you in on the last month or so of competition ‘cause it’s been pretty full on.

Sooooo, a little while back the Young Guns Promotions film crew and myself headed out to Western Canada.

Canada Cup, day 1.

We did some amazing filming with the Red Bull Jet Ski guys and Red Bull hired us a helicopter for an afternoon. While we were there we caught on film one particular move that I did that we then ended up sending into the IR Big Gun show (World Championships for Aerial Kayaking) and I ended up placing 2nd in that, so that was sweet as.

Canada Cup, day 1.

About a week later we had the Lachine Rodeo in Montreal. It’s one of the biggest big wave events in North America and all the big names were there.

Anyways I ended up winning that event which was sweet too. Pat Camblin came in second and then Steve Fisher 3rd, so was a good line up, especially considering that Steve Fisher was the guy that beat me at the IR Big Gun show.

Canada Cup, day 2.

Another week after that we had the North American Championships on the Ottawa River. I kinda bummed out on this one, I won the first day, then had some bad rides coming into Quarter Finals but still made it through.

Canada Cup, day 2.

I then won the Semis and came into the Finals in 1st spot again and was the favourite but as we had finals the water lowered and the wave got super green, I caught an unlucky surge and the wave greened just as I was dropping on for my finals ride, I wasn’t even able to catch it which sucked but all good.

He he, I did win my first Novelty Cheque though and an honourable mention for the 2 highest scoring rides of the comp and being the only non-North American to ever place in the North American Champs, so all up it was really good exposure.

Right now Sean and I are just trying to work out everything for Uganda. We leave soon, so are super excited.

Cheers, Anthony”.
