“Addictions can be very, very bad but addiction itself is not bad.

It’s a case of what you’re addicted to.

You better live each day like it’s your last, ‘cos one day you’re going to be right”.

Ray Charles.

You may be asking the reasonable question: “I am not a surfer and certainly do not want to join the world tour, so WTF do I want to read this book for?”

This is a valid question.

This is a valid answer.

It's because Richard’s observations are directly applicable to someone who for instance aspires to climb harder or prepare themselves for a Big Trip. A weekend trip to the local creek won’t require it to be read; spend the money on fuel or beer.

But if you’re planning a multi-week first wilderness grade 5 descent, then what he covers is bloody useful.        Have a look ……. www.thesurfersmind.com
