“Addictions can be very, very bad but addiction itself is not bad.

It’s a case of what you’re addicted to.

You better live each day like it’s your last, ‘cos one day you’re going to be right”.

Ray Charles.

Here’s a section where some of the pics that get sent in should live but only if they are interesting and don't find a home elsewhere. If there’s any kind of background story to the pic, we’ll write it up, otherwise it is what it is.

Here's one of "The Casual Guy" at work. In theory he'd be a good guy to have around on a trip as nothing would phase him, this 900 metre drop clearly means F/A to him ....

(PS, more of this stuff to the right).

With a rope and some rock shoes ....

The following shots were taken by photographer Hans van de Vorst at the Grand Canyon, Arizona.  The descriptions are his own and the identity of the photographer in the photos is unknown:

“I was simply stunned seeing this guy standing on this solitary rock in the Grand Canyon. The canyon's depth is 900 meters here and the rock on the right is next to the canyon and safe. Watching this guy in his thongs, with a camera and a tripod, I asked myself 3 questions:

1. How did he get to that rock?

2. Why not take that sunset picture on the rock to the right which is perfectly    safe?

3. How will he get back?

After the sun set behind the canyon's horizon, he packed his things (having only one hand available) and prepared himself for the jump. This took about 2 minutes and that point he had the full attention of the crowd. After that, he jumped ...

Gracefully .....

You can see, the adjacent rock is higher, so he tried to land lower down which is quite steep and he tried to use his one hand to grab the rock.

Look carefully at him. He has a camera, a tripod and also a plastic bag, all on his shoulder or in his left hand. Only his right hand is available to grab the rock and counteract the weight of this stuff.

He lands low and both his right hand and right foot slip away... and at that moment I take this shot.

He pushes his body against the rock, waits a few seconds, throws his stuff on to the top, climbs up and walks away……….".
